Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Back-End Software Developer to take an active role in developing and maintaining web applications that support Avantech’s software products. This role is suited for developers with 3+ years of experience who are confident working independently, contributing to architectural decisions, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
You will be responsible for implementing robust back-end components, optimizing performance, and ensuring secure and reliable data handling across internal and customer-facing applications.
Your work will directly support Avantech’s mission to provide efficient, secure, and high-quality software that improves business operations across diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining web applications
- Optimizing applications for performance, speed, and reliability
- Validating and securely handling all user inputs and data
- Participating actively in code reviews and technical discussions
- Troubleshooting and debugging
- Contributing to improving development standards, tools, and processes
- Writing high-quality, maintainable code
- Managing hosting environments
Skills & Qualifications
- Fluency in scripting languages such as PHP, .NET, C#, or Java
- Experience with frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Django, or Express
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and Oracle
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services
- Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring applications adhere to them
