Whether you’re exploring astrophotography, capturing interior spaces or shooting landscapes, the ultra-wide 114° diagonal angle of view and ultra-bright f/1.4 aperture unlock new creative possibilities. Surprisingly lightweight for such as fast lens, this L-series hybrid prime is versatile tool for high-quality photography and video in tough conditions.
An ultra-wide view for expansive drama
Capture thrilling images and video in wide-open or confined spaces using a 14mm hybrid prime lens with an immense 114° diagonal field of view.
Shoot more freely in low light
A bright f/1.4 aperture lets you use faster shutter speeds without pushing ISO higher, while the shallow depth of field adds creative freedom for an ultra-wide lens.
Uncompromising image quality
Enjoy greater clarity thanks to the use of advanced UD, BR and Fluorite lenses to control chromatic aberration, plus SWC and ASC coatings to reduce ghosting and flare.
Sharper details across the frame
Three GMo aspherical elements suppress sagittal coma flare for finely rendered point light sources – such as stars in astrophotography – and superb edge-to-edge precision.
Precise control for photography and video
Hybrid features include a dedicated smooth-action Iris Ring3, 11-blade circular aperture, minimal focus breathing and a Voice Coil Motor1 for fast, smooth and quiet autofocus.
Lightweight, weather-resistant construction2
Be ready to take on the toughest assignments, thanks to a durable L-series design. At approx. 578g, this surprisingly light f/1.4 ultra-wide lens is made for shooting on the move.
1 Important: The Voice Coil Motor (VCM) in the lens emits a low-level magnetic field. While generally safe to use, we advise consulting your doctor if you have a pacemaker or any other medical device to address any concerns. When the lens is not connected to the camera or when the camera is off may cause internal noise from the lens’s components. This is normal and not a malfunction. Minor movements during transportation do not affect performance.
2 Although the lens features dust- and water-resistant construction, this cannot completely prevent dust or water droplets from entering the lens.
3 Iris ring is inactive for controlling aperture in still photo shooting when using the lens with EOS R system cameras released before May 2024.
